The Cincinnati Bengals took a huge hit last weekend when their best player was carted off the field just one minute into the game. Green ran about a seven-yard out route on the Bengals‘ 20 yard-line and did not get up after Stephen Gilmore’s hit.
Green tried to get up on his own power but then was held up by two assistant trainers, who eventually signaled a cart. The injury was quickly diagnosed as a hamstring injury. Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis addressed the media by saying, “I don’t know when he can be back, but he has a hamstring injury, I can tell you that.”
Green has been one of the best receivers in the league this year, hauling in 66 receptions, 964 yards, and four touchdowns. The franchise knows Green is a main reason why fans buy Bengals tickets, as they extended Green to a four-year,$60 million extension before this season. Early indications point to Green suffering a strained hamstring, avoiding the probable season-ending torn hamstring injury. Green will likely miss this week’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, as his status will be evaluated week-by-week.
