On January 12th the Indiana Pacers and Denver Nuggets will face off in London, England at the 02 Arena. BT Sport, which is a group of sports television channels, is set to show the global game for free on their Facebook with the Facebook Live feature.

It is the first time an NBA game will be shown live on Facebook in the UK and the stream will feature the league’s “NBA Mobile View” feed, delivering a closer shot of the action optimized for viewing on the small screens of tablets and phones. The Nuggets enter the game with a disappointing 14-23 record while the Pacers come into the matchup barely over .500 with a 20-18 mark.

In a statement, BT Sport President Simon Green said, “We are always looking for new and innovative ways of showcasing BT Sport. Showing BT Sport’s coverage of the NBA Global Games London 2017 on Facebook is a great way to reach new audiences and sports fans who enjoy their entertainment online, through social media and on their mobile devices.”

NBA EMEA Vice President of Global Content and Media Distribution Elsa Memmi also expressed her approval saying, “We are excited that BT Sport will stream NBA Global Games London 2017 live on Facebook, allowing us to reach more fans – wherever they are – across the UK.” If they are any Denver fans in London, possibly because of the European players such as Danilo Gallinari, Nikola Jokic, and Jusuf Nurkic, they may be hesitant to buy Nuggets tickets if they get too pricy. Facebook has now given fans another outlet, free nonetheless, to watch NBA content and possibly future sports content.
