California has always been a hotbed for fun events, especially for people who are into sports and athletic events. From a professional side, teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Angels, and Los Angeles Dodgers will always be there to root for and to attend. At a nonprofessional level, there is still plenty to do to get the competitive juices flowing. One of these great events take place in Huntington Beach.
The Surf City half marathon is considered one of the best half marathon courses in the entire country. The course starts along the Pacific Coast Highway and passes by the famous Huntington Beach pier. Runners than can enjoy the beautiful Bolsa Chica Wetlands as they head to Main Street as they head to the finish line.
Runners start in groups of 1,000-1,200 in two-three minute intervals and are organized according to their individual predicted finish times. There could be typically 45 minutes between the first and last waves. Below is a graphic of the 13.1 mile run.
