Preview: Find Out Who the Must-See Acts Are at 4Knots Festival

Looking for a way to take advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend? Check out 4Knots Festival at South Street Seaport this Saturday. This free, all-ages event features a solid lineup, a ton of food trucks and VIP pirate ship. What’s not to like?

What To See At 4Knots Festival

Village Voice’s annual 4Knots fest is as unique as NYC itself. The event offers an awesome location, right on the docks of the Hudson River, and needless to say, we’re pretty pumped about it.

Of course, every good party has an after-party, and 4Knots is no different. Webster Hall will host the official after-party with performances from Ab-Soul and Jarren Benton, but that event will require tickets.

See below for our must-see artists!

Dinosaur Jr.

Why?: This trio has been at it since the 80s, and has become one of the most influential–yet, strangely unheralded–alternative rock bands around. This is the band that laid the groundwork for a lot of the bands you listen to today.

Mac DeMarco

Why?: This Canadian indie-rocker is riding pretty high right now. His recent album, Salad Days, is an early favorite for many “Album of the Year” lists, and he has been selling out shows across the globe.

Those Darlins

Why?: This band is at the forefront of the “New Nashville” movement. Music City’s alternative/indie scene is thriving, and Those Darlins have a lot to do with that.

Juan Wauters

Why?: This Queens native has has the kind of oddball personality that has made him a perfect support act on Mac DeMarco’s recent tour. Don’t miss Wauters’ quirky brand of garage-folk at 4Knots.

Dead Stars

Why?: This Brooklyn band writes incredibly catchy, guitar-driven fuzz-pop tunes. Dead Stars is often compared to Dinosaur Jr., here is your chance to see how they stack up.
