Concert-goers in New York City will welcome a new beach-side summer venue as The Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk is set to open in June. The initial summer 2016 lineup has been announced, and its jam packed with a little something for everyone! Plenty of big names will make their boardwalk debut this summer including The Beach Boys, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Jane’s Addiction, and O.A.R.

The new Amphitheater at Coney Island will be the mainstay of the state-of-the-art Seaside Park and Community Arts Center that has been in the works for years. The Partially covered venue will have a capacity of 5,000, and will become the first open-air venue in NYC. “America’s Playground is getting ready to welcome its greatest attraction yet,” said Eric Adams, Brooklyn borough president. “From its very first performance this summer, the Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk will be a must-visit destination for fun-seekers in search of top-flight entertainment from near and far.
