Arcade Fire Cover Prince, Guns ‘N Roses, Lady Gaga, and Black Eyed Peas in Minnesota

Fans at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn., were treated to a unique set from Arcade Fire Saturday night. The band has been touring the U.S. in support of Reflektor, but last night’s set featured a few unlikely covers from the indie-rock stalwarts. For instance, the band managed to slip parts of Lady Gaga‘s “Do What U Want” and Black Eyed Pea’s “I Gotta Feeling” into its rendition of “Rococo.”

Arcade Fire Cover Prince’s ‘Controversy’

Later, the band threw Guns ‘N Roses “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and Aerosmith‘s “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” into the intro of “Normal Person.” The pinnacle of the evening, however, involved a cover of Minnesota’s own, Prince. Arcade Fire performed the artist’s “Controversy,” during which, Win Butler wore a box over his head, displaying images of Prince and Minnesota congresswoman Michelle Bachmann. You can find audio of “Controversy” and the evening’s setlist below.
