Jimmy Fallon corralled a star-studded list of musical guests for his first week as host of The Tonight Show. This week has featured performances from U2 and Lady Gaga, but last night’s Arcade Fire performance was quite a spectacle. The band’s stage set-up created a disco ball-lit hallway feel that singer Win Butler worked like a catwalk, wielding a microphone in one hand and a video camera in the other.
Arcade Fire’s Performance for Fallon
The band performed, “Afterlife,” off its recent critically-acclaimed album, Reflektor. Butler spends the first half of the performance singing into a handheld video camera and finds himself climbing into the studio audience toward the end of the song. This performance certainly raised the bar for tonight’s guest, Fallon-regular Justin Timberlake.
