The Boston University basketball team plays their home games at Agganis Arena, which may be better known for the BU hockey team. And while you should definitely go to Agganis to check out a Terriers hockey game, do not miss out on BU basketball. The Terriers play in the Patriot League with some very good teams such as Lehigh, Bucknell, Navy, and American University. These schools have been known for getting to the Big Dance and pulling off a shocker such as Lehigh knocking out Duke and Bucknell over Kansas. Could the Terriers pull off a shocker in this year’s NCAA Tournament?
Agganis Arena is just a short distance from Fenway Park and all of the great bars and restaurants in the area. This is great for pregame and post-game eating and drinking and also shopping. Once inside Agganis you will find that the arena is still practically new, with comfortable seating and a great view of the court no matter where you sit. It holds over 7000 fans for basketball, which is not too few and also not too many. The Terriers are the five time national champions in hockey, but the basketball team also has had a lot of success as well. They have been to seven NCAA Tournaments, the most recent in 2011.
This year’s home schedule includes games with Albany, New Hampshire, Bucknell, Navy, Lehigh, Lafayette, and many more. Don’t miss out on the excitement of Boston University basketball in Downtown Boston’s Agganis Arena for the 2015-16 season.
