The Washington Huskies have been to the NCAA Tournament 16 times in school history. They have been to the Sweet Sixteen seven times (1951, 1953, 1984, 1998, 2005, 2006 and 2010). They have advanced to the Elite Eight three times (1943, 1951 and 1953) and the Final Four in 1953.
The Huskies have also been to the NIT seven times and have made it to Madison Square Garden for the semifinals in 2012. They also went to the CBI in 2008. Will the Huskies get back to the postseason in 2016? Come out to Alaska Airlines Arena and find out.
Alaska Airlines Arena opened in 1927 and seats 10,000 fans. This place drips with the Huskies athletics history with the banners hanging form the rafters of past championships. The fans and students are among the best in the nation and they make the Huskies basketball game a must-see event. The concessions are great too and you can enjoy hot dogs, pizzas, candy. Sodas and more while you watch a great game.
The Huskies are part of the PAC 12, one of college basketball’s best conferences. Teams such as Washington State, Oregon State, Oregon, Stanford, California, USC, UCLA, Arizona State, Arizona, Utah and Colorado. These teams will all be competing for a spot in the NCAA Tournament by either winning the PAC 12 Tournament or by winning enough regular season games to gain an at-large bid. History dictates that about half of the PAC 12 teams will make it to the Big Dance. You can see them before the NCAA Tournament!
