College Stadium Review: Alico Arena

The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles were the darlings of the college basketball world during the 2013 NCAA Tournament when they advanced all the way to the Sweet Sixteen in their only NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. FGCU was known as “Dunk City” for a few weeks as the high flying Eagles pulled off upset wins over the #2 seed Georgetown and the #7 seed San Diego State, both by 10 points.

You will not want to miss out of any of the great Eagles basketball action this season.

The Eagles followed up the NCAA Tournament trip in 2013 with a regular season Atlantic Sun championship in 2014 and a trip to the NIT. In 2015, the Eagles made it to their third straight postseason by getting an invite to the CIT. Will they make it to a postseason tournament for the fourth year in a row? Come out to Alico Arena this year and find out.
Alico Arena opened in 2002. It holds 4500 screaming Eagles fans, which make the atmosphere at “Dunk City” very intimidating for their opposition. The seats at Alico Arena all close to the court, which means a great view for the fans and a noisy environment for the opponents. You can enjoy all your favorites from the concession stands such as popcorn, peanuts, hot dogs, pretzels and soda while taking in the great A-Sun basketball action.
This season’s home games include Texas Wesleyan, Youngstown State, North Dakota, Bowling Green, UMass, South Dakota State, La Tech, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, NJIT, UNF, Stetson and USC Upstate.
You will not want to miss out of any of the great Eagles basketball action this season. Make it to Alico Arena with your family and friends to catch all of the excitement in “Dunk City” and have a great time.
