College Stadium Review: Allan P. Kirby Arena

Lafayette has been to the NCAA Tournament four times including last season. The Leopards won the Patriot League Tournament, earning the automatic bid. The Leopards have also been to the NIT five times, advancing to the quarterfinals in 1972.

Lafayette’s Allan P. Kirby¬† This arena looks like an old school gym with its wooden bleachers. Going to a Lafayette Game is all about college basketball. This is for the real basketball fans.

Every seat is close to the action and you will enjoy your favorite concession items while you watch the game such as cheeseburgers, hot dogs, pizzas, pretzels and Coke products. The banners hanging from the rafters let you know how successful the Leopards athletic programs have been over the years and how much tradition they have.

Lafayette plays in the Patriot League which includes teams like American, Army, Boston U, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Loyola MD and Navy. The winner of the conference tournament will get a bid to the NCAA Tournament again this season. Can Lafayette repeat last year’s championship? Come out to Allan P. Kirby Center and see.

The winner of the regular season championship will also qualify for the postseason, so these games will have a lot riding on them.
