College Stadium Review: BB&T Arena

Northern Kentucky basketball has been the the NCAA Division II Tournament 13 times and the D-III Tournament twice. Will this be the year they make it to the Big Dance? Come out to the BB&T Arena and find out.

Prather Coliseum

NKU was actually rejected by the Ohio Valley Conference because they felt the nice new arena would give the Norse an unfair recruiting advantage.

Northern Kentucky plays at the BB&T Arena which opened in 2010 and seats 9400 fans. That might seem like a large arena for a team in the A-Sun, but this is Kentucky and college basketball is king in the Bluegrass State. NKU was actually rejected by the Ohio Valley Conference because they felt the nice new arena would give the Norse an unfair recruiting advantage. That should tell us something.
The Norse is moving to the Horizon League for the 2016 season. This will mean games against teams such as Cleveland State, Detroit, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Oakland, Illinois Chicago, Valparaiso, Wright State and Youngstown State. These teams will be trying to get to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Horizon League Tournament this season. They will also be trying to get to the postseason by winning the regular season championship should they fail to win the tournament. With this at stake, the action will be intense this season at the BB&T Center.
Don’t miss out on the great college basketball action at the Northern Kentucky basketball games this season. Bring the kids out to the BB&T Center as many times as you can.
