College Stadium Review: Bender Arena
The American Eagles basketball team will be trying to win the Patriot League and get to the NCAA Tournament in 2015-16. If they are successful they will make it to the Big Dance for the second time in three years and fourth time since 2008.
The Eagles play their home basketball games at Bender Arena, their home since 1988. Bender Arena holds 4500 fans, which means no matter where your tickets are, you will have a great seat. Enjoy your favorite concession items such as pizzas, popcorn, nachos and pretzels while you watch the great Patriot League action.
American University has had some rather famous coaches get their starts coaching the Eagles such as Jim Lynam, Jeff Jones and Gary Williams who won an NCAA Tournament while coaching nearby Maryland in 2002.
This year’s home schedule includes Army, Bucknell, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh, Navy and Boston U. You may recall some of those teams for the huge NCAA Tournament upsets they have pulled off in recent years such as Bucknell over Kansas and Lehigh over Duke, both as #15 seeds over #2 seeds. Could this be the year American U pulls off a huge shocker against one of the elite basketball powerhouses? It is possible.
Don’t miss out on any of the Patriot League excitement at Bender Arena this season.
