The UC Irvine basketball team made its first trip to the NCAA Tournament last season. Will they get back for the second year in a row? Come out to Bren Events Center this season and see. Last season, they nearly pulled off a shocker over Louisville, falling 57-55.
UC Irvine has been to the NIT five times, the most recent in 2014. Twice they have advanced to the second round. In 2013, they went to the CIT second round as well.
The Anteaters play at the Bren Events Center, which opened in 1987, and seats nearly 5000 fans. There are no bad seats at the Anteaters games and you will enjoy a great view while also enjoying your favorite concession items like cheeseburgers, nachos, hot dogs, popcorn and Pepsi products. The student section keeps it loud inside the Bren Events Center with their signature “Zot, Zot” chant!
The Anteaters are part of the Big West Conference, which includes teams such as Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Hawaii, Long Beach State, UC Davis, UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara. These teams will all be coming to Bren Events Center this season and the action will be intense. The winner of the regular season championship will automatically qualify for a postseason tournament. The Anteaters could very well be that team.
The winner of the Big West Tournament will be going to the Big Dance. The Anteaters have a great chance to be that team again this season.
Don’t miss out on exciting UC Irvine basketball at Bren Events Center this year. Bring the whole family out as often as you can.
