College Stadium Review: Carver-Hawkeye Arena

The Iowa Hawkeyes have been to the NCAA Tournament 23 times in their long winning tradition. The Hawkeyes have been to the Sweet Sixteen eight times and the Elite Eight four times. In 1955, 1956 and 1980, Iowa advanced to the Final Four. The Hawkeyes have played in the NIT seven times with the most recent being 2013 when they went all the way to the Championship Game at Madison Square Garden.

Iowa has had many great players in their history such as Acie Earl, Roy Marble, B. J. Armstrong, Luke Recker, Aaron White, Roy Devyn Marble, and many more. The Hawkeyes play in the Big Ten Conference which is one of the elite conferences in college basketball.

Carver-Hawkeye Arena opened in 1983 and holds over 15,000 fans. You can enjoy great concession items such as brats, pizzas, cheese steak sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, soft serve ice cream, and more while watching a fantastic college basketball game. Every seat has a great view of the court and the students and alumni keep the noise level at a fever pitch.

The Hawkeyes 2015-16 schedule will include Coppin State, Gardner Webb, Florida State, UMKC, Tennessee Tech, Michigan State, Nebraska, Michigan, Purdue, Northwestern, Penn State, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, and more.
