College Stadium Review: David R. Stopher Gym

The Nicholls State basketball team has been to the NCAA Tournament twice in school history (1995 and 1998) and the NCAA D-II Tournament twice. Can they get to the postseason this year for the first time since 1998? Come out to the Stopher Gym and see.

The action will be intense at the Stopher Gym all season as these teams also battle for the regular season title and the postseason bid that goes with it as well.

 

Stopher Gym opened in 1970 and holds 3800 fans for home games. There are no bad seats in the gym and all of them have back support. Wherever you sit, even in the upper sections you have a great view of the floor. The Colonels fans let you know they are in the building, keeping the noise level high. You can enjoys your hot dogs, nachos, sodas and more while you watch the game
Nicholls State is part of the Southland Conference which includes Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word, Lamar, McNeese State, New Orleans, Northwestern State, Sam Houston State, SE Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. These teams will be trying to win the Southland Conference Tournament to get the automatic NCAA Tournament bid that goes with it.
