College Stadium Review: Detrick Gymnasium

The Blue Devils of Central Connecticut State are from one of the most basketball crazy states in the nation. But with the powerhouse programs at the University of Connecticut winning NCAA Tournaments by the dozen, it is hard to get noticed when you are one of the other programs in the state. But CCSU has been to the NCAA Tournament three times since 2000, although you may not have noticed.

Detrick Gymnasium

The Blue Devils play in the Northeast Conference which means home games will include teams like Robert Morris, St. Francis PA, St. Francis NY, Bryant and Iona and many more.

The Blue Devils play their home games at the Detrick Gymnasium, which opened in 1965 and holds a bit over 2500 fans. Every seat there has a great view of the court. The crowd is loud and into the game as they love their Blue Devils and keep the team pumped up. Enjoy your favorite concession items such as hot dogs, pizza, popcorn and candy while watching the great college basketball action.

The Blue Devils are the alma mater of Former Los Angeles Clipper Keith Closs who played in 130 games with them. Another Blue Devil to play in the NBA was Corsley Edwards who played 10 games with Sacramento. Will there be another Blue Devil on this year’s team to make it to the NBA?
Come out to Detrick Gymnasium this season for some great college basketball action with the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils!
