The Manhattan Jaspers have made the NCAA Tournament eight times including the last two in 2014 and 2015. In 2004, the Jaspers pulled off a Round of 64 shocker over Florida 75-60 and in 1995 they shocked Oklahoma 77-67. In 1958, the Jaspers made it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen.
Manhattan has also been to the NIT 18 times in their long basketball history. The Jaspers have made it to the quarterfinals six times and reached the semifinals in 1953. In 2012, they went to the CIT and advanced to the second round.
The Jaspers play their home games at Draddy Gym, which opened in 1979. Draddy Gym is in the Bronx and it seats over 2300 fans for Jaspers games. With 2300 seats, you know you are guaranteed a great view of the court. You will enjoy a great college basketball game with your favorite concession items such as sandwiches, fruit, pretzels and Coke products. You can hardly beat the neighborhood for pregame and postgame, after all you are in “The City That Never Sleeps.” The fans are passionate about the Jaspers, but not so rowdy that you should feel you might not want to take the kids.
The Jaspers play in the MAAC with teams such as Canisius, Fairfield, Iona, Marist, Monmouth, Niagara, Quinnipiac, Rider, St. Peter’s and Siena. With these great games, you are sure to be entertained when you bring the kids to a Jaspers game.
