The FAU Owls basketball team has been to the NCAA Tournament once in their history (2002) and one NIT (2011). The Owls are are a very young program, having played their first game in 1988. The program has seen a lot of coaches come and go over the years. Coach Michael Curry begins his third year at the helm and will be trying to get the Owls back to the postseason.
The FAU Arena opened in 1984, four years before the Owls began play. It seats 5000 fans and has red and blue chairs all around the arena. Every seat is close to the court for a great view of the action. FAU could be the next big thing in the South Florida area!
You can enjoy your favorite concession items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, pizza, popcorn, cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, and more while watching a great college basketball game.
The Owls are now in Conference USA, which has a great basketball tradition with schools such as UAB, Charlotte, FIU, Southern Miss, UTEP, UTSA, Rice, Old Dominion, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Louisiana Tech and Western Kentucky.
Be sure to come out to FAU Arena this season and catch all of the great C-USA action for a fantastic seat. FAU basketball is one of the well-kept secrets of South Florida’s sports scene. Don’t miss out on a great day of college basketball at FAU Arena.
