College Stadium Review: FedEx Forum

It’s tough to say whether the Memphis Tigers or the Memphis Grizzlies are the hottest ticket at the FedEx Forum these days. The Grizzlies are a championship contender and have been for the past few seasons. But the Memphis Tigers have a long winning tradition in the City of Memphis, and they have owned this town for a long time.

The FedEx Forum has been around since 2004 and seats over 18,000 Memphis fans for home games. The fans are raucous and they keep the atmosphere at a fever pitch throughout the game.

Memphis has been to the NCAA Tournament 26 times. They have been to the Sweet Sixteen 11 times, have been to the Elite Eight six times, the Final Four three times and the National Championship Game twice (1973 and 2008).
The Tigers have been to the NIT 17 times, making it to Madison Square Garden four times and making the Championship Game twice, winning the championship in 2002.
Some of the greats to have played for Memphis include Penny Hardaway, Derrick Rose, Keith Lee, Larry Finch, Lorenzen Wright, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Darius Washington, Tyreke Evans, Will Barton and many more.
Some of the great coaches to coach the Tigers include Gene Bartow, Larry Finch and John Calipari. Josh Pastner is one of the great young coaches in the game today and is going into his sixth year at the helm.

These teams will be trying to win the AAC Tournament to secure the NCAA Tournament automatic bid, but will also be trying to win the regular season championship and also go for one of the at-large bids. You do not want to miss out on a great college basketball experience this season with the Memphis Tigers.
The home schedule at the FedEx Forum includes games with Southern Miss, Oklahoma, Louisiana Tech, SE Missouri State, Manhattan, Ole Miss, IUPUI, Tulane, Nicholls State, Temple, USF, East Carolina, UConn, Cincinnati, UCF, SMU and Tulsa.
