College Stadium Review: Fleisher Center

The NJIT Highlanders basketball team made their first postseason as a D-I school in 2015 when they made it to the CIT. This was quite an accomplishment for a program that not long ago had a 51 game losing steak. Things are looking up for the Highlanders.

The Teams will also be trying to earn a bid to the NIT by winning the regular season championship as well, so expect the tension to be thick in the Fleischer Center.

They play their home games at the Fleisher Center which opened in 2006 and holds about 1500 fans. This is a really new gym, but acts as an old school gym where you can get a great seat near the the court and watch college basketball without a lot of frills. Tickets and concessions are very affordable and the crowd can get quite loud at times.
The Highlanders play in the A-Sun Conference which includes teams such as Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, Stetson, North Florida, Lipscomb, Kennesaw State and USC Upstate. These teams will be trying to get the automatic NCAA Tournament berth that goes along with winning the A-Sun Tournament like FGCU did in 2013 when they went to the Sweet Sixteen and Mercer did in 2014 when they beat Duke in the Round of 64.
The Teams will also be trying to earn a bid to the NIT by winning the regular season championship as well, so expect the tension to be thick in the Fleischer Center.
Bring the family out to a Highlanders game at the Fleischer Center this season. Don’t miss out on terrific A-Sun basketball action.
