College Stadium Review: GCU Arena

If you have ever wanted to get in on the ground floor of a new team, but never had a chance before, this is your chance. Maybe you are too new to the Phoenix area to have gotten in on the Diamondbacks or Coyotes when they first started and wish you had been there. Well, here is a chance to get in on what might be the next big thing in Phoenix.

The Grand Canyon Antelopes' GCU Arena

The Grand Canyon Antelopes’ GCU Arena

The Grand Canyon Antelopes basketball team is a fairly new sports attraction to the Phoenix area. The former NAIA and D-II school joined the big time in 2013, hoping to get to the NCAA Tournament. They are coached by a Phoenix Suns legend in Dan Majerle, known during his playing days as “Thunder Dan” Majerle.

The Antelopes home court is GCU Arena which opened in 2007 and seats 7000 fans. This is the first season the Antelopes will be eligible for postseason play in the Division I level. So now, the race for top dog in the Phoenix area with Arizona State is officially on.

The GCU Arena is a great place to come out and watch college basketball. You can enjoy your favorite concession items such as chicken sandwiches, nachos, popcorn and Coke products from a seat with a great view of the court.
