College Stadium Review: Hilliard Gates Sports Center

The Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne Mastodons have been to the D-II NCAA Tournament one time (1983), but never the “Big Dance”. They have been to the CIT the past two seasons though, so maybe 2016 will be the year to break through.

IPFW has been a member of the Summit League for the past seven seasons. The Summit League includes Denver, IUPUI, North Dakota State, Nebraska-Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State, and Western Illinois. The winner of the Summit League Tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and the regular season champion will also get a postseason bid.

The Hilliard Gates Sports Center has been the home of the Mastodons since 2013. It holds over 2,300 fans in the college basketball mad state of Indiana. The move back to the on campus facility means fewer seats, thus a more intimate setting and a better view of the court. This just makes for a better basketball experience.

You can enjoy your favorite concession items such as nachos, popcorn, pulled pork sandwiches, pretzels, candy, and more from a great seat, close to the action.
