College Stadium Review: Holt Arena

The Idaho State Bengals have been to the NCAA Tournament 11 times in school history. They have been to the Sweet Sixteen five times and to the Elite Eight in 1977. The Bengals upset the all-time winningest program by far in NCAA Tournament history, UCLA, in the Sweet Sixteen in what is the biggest win in school history. The Bengals have not been to the Big Dance since 1987. Will 2016 be the year they get back? Come to Holt Arena this season and find out.

Idaho State's Holt Arena

Idaho State’s Holt Arena

Holt Arena opened in 1970 and seats 8,000 Bengals fans for their home games in Pocatello. The Holt Arena is also used for Bengals football games as well. But basketball is where this place shines. The local fans really come out to support the Bengals basketball team and the noise level can be described at times as deafening. Maybe some of the fans are old enough to remember the glory days and perhaps they passed on the stories and trophies of the past down to the younger generations. Whatever it is, the Bengals basketball games are a great place to be.

You will enjoy the great Big Sky Conference action against teams such as Idaho, Eastern Washington, Montana, Montana State, North Dakota, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Cal State Sacramento, Southern Utah and Weber State.
