The Sam Houston State Bearkats have been to the NCAA Tournament twice in school history (2003 and 2010). They have also been to the CIT the past two seasons and advanced to the second round both times. Can they get back to the postseason again in 2016? Come out to the Johnson Coliseum and find out.
The Johnson Coliseum opened in 1976 and seats over 6000 fans for Bearkats basketball. The Johnson Coliseum is the perfect size for college basketball. It is big enough to create a loud atmosphere but small enough so everyone has a great view of the court. You can enjoy your favorite concession items such as hot dogs, Polish sausages, popcorn, candy and more while you watch the game from a great seat. The students and cheerleaders keep the energy up to give the Bearkats a home court advantage.
Sam Houston State is part of the Southland Conference, which includes teams such as Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word, Lamar, McNeese State, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, SE Louisiana, Stephen F Austin and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. These teams will be trying to get to the NCAA Tournament this season by winning the Southland Conference Tournament and the automatic bid that comes with it. But, they will first be trying to make sure they earn a postseason bid by winning the regular season title. So the action will be at a fever pitch all season long.
Do not miss out on the great college basketball action at Johnson Coliseum this season. Bring the entire family out for a great time.
