College Stadium Review: Koessler Athletic Center

The Canisius Golden Griffins are one of two NCAA teams in Buffalo, NY trying to get to the NCAA Tournament this season. The Buffalo Bulls made it last year, so now the Griffins need to get in on the fun of the Big Dance. The Golden Griffins have made it to the NCAA Tournament four times, three in the 1950s and also in 1996.

The Griffins play their home games at the Koessler Athletic Center which holds over 2100 fans. It has been the Griffins home since 1968.

Koessler Athletic Center sits within walking distance of one of Buffalo’s nicest neighborhoods where you can hang out both before and after the game at either the Oakk Room or the Anchor Bar where you can eat and drink the night away.
The fans at the Koessler Center are some of the friendliest in the college game today. If you seem to be a bit lost, most likely one of them will be glad to assist you. They are also very much into the game and behind the Griffins. They will let themselves be heard during the game, giving this a great game day feel.
The Griffins home games this season will be against teams such as Fairfield, Iona, Manhattan, Monmouth, Rider, Marist, Quinnipiac, Louisiana Monroe, St. Peter’s, Siena and more.
