The Wisconsin Badgers have a long tradition of winning basketball. They have been to the NCAA Tournament 21 times, have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen eight times, the Elite Eight six times (1941, 1947, 2000, 2005, 2014 and 2015). The Badgers have been to the Final Four four times (1941, 2000, 2014 and 2015), the National Championship Game twice (1941 and 2015) and won the NCAA Tournament in 1941.
The Badgers have been to the NIT four times, advancing to the second round in three of those. Some of the great players to play for the Badgers include Frank Kaminsky, Sam Dekker, John Leuer, Devin Harris, Jordan Taylor, and many more.
The Kohl Center opened in 1998 and seats over 17,000 fans. There is a big game feel when you go to a game at the Kohl Center which is as big as an NBA arena. All the seats are great and you can enjoy all your favorite concession items such as brats, hot dogs, pretzels and Coke products while you watch a great game.
The atmosphere at the Badgers games is among the best in the nation as this has become one of college basketball’s top programs. Wisconsin is no longer a football-only state. Badgers basketball brings out the “Cheese Heads” as well!
Wisconsin is part of the Big Ten, which is perhaps the best conference in all of college basketball. Teams such as Michigan State, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio State, Purdue, Indiana, Minnesota, Northwestern, Penn State, Maryland, Iowa, Rutgers, and Nebraska will be on the Badgers schedule and most of them will be coming to Kohl Center. About half of these teams will be going to the Big Dance and there is a very good chance the eventual National Champions will come out of the Big Ten.
You do not want to miss out on the exciting Big Ten basketball action at the Kohl Center this season. The Badgers are going to try for a third straight trip to the Final Four and you want to cheer them on!
