College Stadium Review: Ladd Peebles Stadium

The South Alabama Jaguars are new to college football. But it sure hasn’t taken them long to catch up. One of the reasons is they play in a stadium that has been no stranger to college football in Ladd Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. This has been the site of many great college bowl games in the past and now is home to the Jaguars during the regular season.
Ladd Peebles Stadium opened in 1948. It has a seating capacity of over 33,000 which puts the Jags right up there with most Sun Belt Conference schools. The stadium is the site of the annual Senior Bowl and has been since most of us can remember. The Bowl has also been around for a while. It has been many different names such as the GMAC Bowl, but it is always entertaining.
The Jaguars have only been playing football since 2009 but they have already won 65 games while losing only 37. It has not taken them long to adjust to the FBS either. They started in the upper level of college football three seasons ago and in their first season they were 2-10. But in the following two seasons, the Jags went 6-6 in both and last season it was good enough for them to reach a bowl game for the first time in school history.
The program is an up-and-comer and you can see them at Ladd Peebles Stadium this fall. The Jags home schedule will include games against Gardner-Webb, NC State, Arkansas State, Idaho, Louisiana Lafayette and Appalachian State. So you have some great teams coming in to Ladd Peebles Stadium this season.

NC State is from the Power Five ACC and won the St. Petersburg Bowl last season. UL-Lafayette won the New Orleans Bowl for the third straight season last year. Arkansas State should be very familiar to the Mobile area fans as they have appeared in four straight GoDaddy Bowls at Ladd Peebles Stadium.
College football is king in the southeast. Nowhere is this more evident than in Alabama. Everyone here is fired up about their football and Jag fans are no different. Do not miss out on a minute of the excitement this season. Get your tickets now.
Come out to Ladd Peebles Stadium, enjoy a great college football game while sipping on your favorite beer. That’s right, you can buy beer at Ladd Peebles Stadium even though it is a college football game. All the seats are close to the action, just be sure to bring a seat cushion.
Ladd Peebles Stadium is just a short drive to the Gulf Coast of Alabama and Mississippi too. You can go to the beach and work on your tan or go to one of the casinos and play some games yourself and then go watch the South Alabama Jaguars battle the best of the Sun Belt Conference. Don’t miss out on all the excitement and remember to get your Bowl and Senior Bowl tickets too!
