The Eastern Illinois Panthers basketball team has made two NCAA Tournament appearances in their history, one in 1992 and one in 2001. They have also been to CIT last season where they advanced to the second round.
The Panthers are part of the Ohio Valley Conference, which includes schools such as Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee Martin, Murray State, Morehead State, Jacksonville State, SE Missouri State, Austin Peay and Belmont.
The Panthers home games are played at Lantz Arena, which opened in 1967, and seats 5400 fans. The “Blue Crew “student section and pep band keep the place lively for the Panthers games. Every seat is close to the action as you watch the game and enjoy some of your favorite concession items such as hot dogs, popcorn, nachos, bosco sticks and Pepsi products.
The Panthers home schedule this season includes games against Western Illinois, Green Bay, Indiana State, Northern Kentucky, Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State and more.
