College Stadium Review: Littlejohn Coliseum

There are college basketball conferences and then there is the ACC. Clemson is and has been an ACC member for as long as anyone remembers. This means they have had long time rivalries with the best programs in the game’s history such as North Carolina, Duke, NC State, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest.

UMass, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida State, Louisville, Duke, Miami, Pitt, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Boston College and Virginia are coming in this season to face the Tigers.

Think of the NBA legends that have played games at Littlejohn Coliseum since it opened in 1968. Players that have gone on to NBA Championships, All-Star Games, the Hall of Fame, and legendary status played on the court at Littlejohn Coliseum. Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Chris Paul, Ralph Sampson, Grant Hill, Vince Carter, David Thompson, Tyler Hansbrough, Jay Williams, Carlos Boozer, Dennis Scott, and Sam Cassell are just some of the great visiting players who have played at Littlejohn Coliseum. Some of the greats to play for the Tigers include Horace Grant, Larry Nance, Dale Davis and Elden Campbell.
Duke and North Carolina have both come to Littlejohn Coliseum as the #1 ranked team in the country and left with a loss. 55 ranked teams and 23 top ten teams have come to Littlejohn’s and lost. Clemson has won approximately 75% of the games they have played at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Think about the great coaches that have come to play the Tigers over the years. Mike Krzyzewski, Dean Smith, Jim Valvano, Bobby Cremins, Gary Williams, Lefty Driesell, Roy Williams, and so on.
Few college basketball venues can match Littlejohn’s history, excitement, great seating and entertaining basketball. That’s the entire package when looking for a great place to go watch a game!
Clemson has been to 11 NCAA Tournaments since their first trip in 1980. They have been to the Sweet Sixteen three times and that 1980 team advanced to the Elite Eight. This while competing in the best college basketball conference in the nation.
Littlejohn Coliseum features very comfortable seats covered in cloth with the school’s famous Tiger Paw emblem stitched in. Since the seats are very vertical, they all offer a great view of the court. You can enjoy all your favorite concession items while watch the best college basketball has to offer in a comfortable setting.
If you can find a better home schedule than this one you had better go there, because this one is about as good as it gets in college basketball.
