The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have been to the NCAA Tournament six times in school history. They have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen twice (1976 and 1979) and made it to the Final Four once (1976).  The Scarlet Knights have been to the NIT 14 times in their history. They have been to the quarterfinals four times, the semifinals at Madison Square Garden three times and the championship game once.

The atmosphere at the “RAC” as it is affectionately known as, is always rowdy with the crazy student section making their presence felt.

The Scarlet Knights are in the Big Ten, which is perhaps the best in all of college basketball. Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern, Penn State, Nebraska, and Maryland make up the Big Ten.
