The Chattanooga Mocs basketball program has had a great winning tradition over the years. The Mocs have been to the NCAA Tournament nine times since their first trip in 1981. They have advanced to the Round of 32 twice (1982 and 1997) and the Sweet Sixteen once in 1997. The Mocs have also played in four NIT Tournaments, advancing to the quarterfinals in 1985. They have also played in the CIT in 2014.
Some of the great players in Mocs history include Gerald Wilkins, Willie White, Johnny Taylor and Russ Schoene, all who played in the NBA. Is the next Mocs player to play in the NBA on this year’s team? Come out to McKenzie Arena this season and find out.
McKenzie Arena has been the Mocs home since 1982. It holds over 11,000 fans which makes it one of the larger arenas in the SoCon Conference. You will get a great view of the court no matter the seat and you will feel like you are watching a big time college basketball game in a top notch venue.
Home games will include Tennessee Tech, Kennesaw State, Radford, Mercer, Western Carolina and many more. Do not miss out on Mocs basketball in the 2015-16 season as they try to get back to the NCAA Tournament for the tenth time in school history.
McKenzie Arena is known around college basketball as one of the best for foodies. Their concession items are second to none. You can pig out on some unique items such as a Tornado or a Mocs Pie (no this is not a dessert).
