College Stadium Review: Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center

Kent State has been a very good basketball team in recent seasons. They have made five appearances in the NCAA Tournament in their school history, all of them since 1999. In 2001, the Golden Flashes went to the Round of 32 and in 2002 Kent State went all the way to the Elite Eight.

Kent State has been to the NIT nine times in school history as well. They have advanced as far as the quarterfinals twice (2000 and 2011). The Golden Flashes have also played in the CIT four times since 2009. They advanced to the quarterfinals of that tournament last season, losing to Northern Arizona 74-73 in overtime.

The Golden Flashes are accustomed to winning and playing in the postseason since the turn of the century. They play their home games at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on campus which opened in 1950. The old gym holds over 6,000 fans for Kent State home games, which is big enough to create a great atmosphere, but small enough to ensure everyone has a great view of the action on the court.

You will enjoy your favorite concession items such as hot dogs, chili dogs, nachos, sausages, pretzels and Pepsi products while enjoying a great college basketball game.

Kent State is part of the Mid American Conference which includes many great basketball teams such as Buffalo, Ball State, Miami OH, Ohio, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan Northern Illinois, and more.
