The Brown University Bears have a 2800 seat facility of their basketball home games in Providence, Rhode Island. The Pizzitola Sports Center opened in 1989 and is home to the Bears basketball team that competes in the Ivy League. The Ivy League is one of the few conferences that does not hold a postseason tournament which means the winner of the regular season advances to the NCAA Tournament. This means that every home Ivy League game is that much more important than in most colleges.
Brown has been to the NCAA Tournament only twice in school history, once in 1939, the first year of the tournament, and in 1986. With that long of a drought, one would think that the fan support would be sparse, but this is not the case at all at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Fans show up to support the Bears basketball team and this makes a game at Pizzitola Sports Center a fun time for all.
The Bears home schedule this season will include games with Holy Cross, Central Connecticut, Marist, Bethune-Cookman, Yale, Harvard, Cornell, Penn and Dartmouth among others.
Enjoy a Bears game in a great seat while enjoying your favorite concession items such as pizza, burgers, hot dogs, pretzels and more. A Brown basketball game is fun for the entire family as you watch teams made up of true college students who play basketball and not the other way around.
