College Stadium Review: Pope Convocation Center

The Campbell Camels of the Big South Conference are trying to get back to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in the school’s history. The only NCAA Tournament game on school history was played against one of the greatest college basketball teams in one of the most memorable NCAA Tournaments. The Camels lost to Duke in 1992, the year of one of the greatest NCAA games in Tournament history, the Duke Kentucky clash in the Elite Eight. The Camels have been trying to get back ever since with no luck. Could this be their year?

Pope Convocation Center

The Camels play home games this year with Morgan State, Coastal Carolina, VMI, The Citadel, College of Charleston, Garner Webb, Presbyterian College and more.

The Camels play their home games at the John Pope Convocation Center since 2007. It holds over 3000 fans for home games which is not too small but not so big that the seats are too far away from the court. Since the arena is only a few years old, all of the seats are movie theatre comfortable and the scoreboard is state of the art with a big video screen in the middle.
