College Stadium Review: Resch Center

The Green Bay Phoenix has made four trips to the NCAA Tournament in school history. They made it in 1991 for the first time, and then went three straight years from 1994-96. They made to the Round of 32 in 1994, which is their best showing. The Phoenix has also been to the NIT four times, including the last two in 2014 and 2015. Green Bay has also played in the CBI twice (2009 and 2010) and the CIT in 2013. So Green Bay has been to the postseason three years in a row. Will they make it four straight in 2016? Come to the Resch Center this season and find out.

The Resch Center has been the home of the Phoenix since 2002. It holds nearly 10,000 fans for the Phoenix home games. The Green Bay fans are glad to have the Phoenix games to go to indoors after the Packers are done in the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field. They take their sports seriously in Green Bay and college basketball is one of their favorites.

Since Resch Center is a stone’s throw from Lambeau, there is no shortage of sports bars nearby to hang out before and after the game. The Stadium View, Anduzzi’s, The Green Bay Distillery, and Badger State Brewery are some of the great places to eat and drink while in town for the Phoenix games. While in the Resch Center you will have a great seat while enjoying some of your favorite concession items as as well, such as pizza, brats, pretzels and beer!

The Phoenix is part of the Horizon League which means home games with teams such as Cleveland State, Detroit, UW-Milwaukee, Northern Kentucky, UI-Chicago, Oakland, Valparaiso, Wright State and Youngstown State. There have been a lot of shocking NCAA upsets from this group. Will this season produce another?
