The Fordham Rams basketball team has played in four NCAA Tournaments in their history, the most recent in 1992. In 1971 the Rams went all the way to the Sweet Sixteen, their best NCAA showing. The Rams have also been to the NIT 16 times in school history, the most recent in 1991.
Fordham has been playing their home games in Rose Hill Gymnasium since 1925. It is the oldest arena in Division I college basketball. This place is the Wrigley Field or Fenway Park of college basketball. It holds nearly 3,500 Fordham fans, which in 1925 made it one of the largest on-campus facilities in the nation. ESPN compares Rose Hill Gym to Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, The Palestra in Philadelphia and the home of Yale basketball, Payne Whitney Gym.
Fordham is part of the Atlantic 10 Conference that has some of college basketball’s best teams. This year’s Fordham home schedule includes Fairleigh Dickinson, Colgate, St. John’s LIU Brooklyn, LaSalle, Richmond, George Mason, St. Joseph’s, St Bonaventure, UMass, Davidson and more.
Every seat is a great seat at Rose Hill Gym. The place is dripping with history and the fans keep the noise level up, giving the Rams a great home court advantage. You will definitely have a great time in the Bronx area which is where Fordham is located. If you schedule everything just right, you might be able to catch a game at the oldest college gym and one of the newest NBA Arenas on the same day, or at least the same weekend. Do not pass up a chance to catch a great A-10 game at the Rose Hill Gym.
