College Stadium Review: Sharp Gymnasium

The Houston Baptist basketball team has been to one NCAA Tournament in school history. That came in 1984 when they lost in the opener to Alcorn State.  The Huskies have not been to the postseason since then. Will this season be the end of the drought? Come to Sharp Gym and find out.

Houston Baptist’s Sharp Gymnasium

Sharp Gym opened in 1965. It seats 1,500 fans for Huskies home games, which means a great view of the court for everyone. The student section and the fans are passionate about their Huskies and they keep the atmosphere lively for every home game.

The Huskies compete in the Southland Conference, which includes Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, Incarnate Word, Lamar, McNeese State, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, Sam Houston State, SE Louisiana, Stephen F Austin, and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. One of them will win the Southland Conference Tournament and advance to the NCAA Tournament. One of them will win the regular season championship and also advance to a postseason tournament. Will the Huskies be one of those teams?

Come out to the Sharp Gymnasium this season for Huskies basketball. It is a good time with family or friends. You can get a good seat and you’ll be in Downtown Houston, so there is plenty to do after the game is over.
