Southeast Missouri has been to the NCAA Tournament one time at the D-I level, which was in 2000 when they lost to LSU 64-61 in the first round. In D-II, the Redhawks went 14 times, three times advancing to the Final Four. All three times they advanced to the championship game. All three times they came up just short.
Is there a better name for a college basketball venue than the Show Me Center? Missouri is called the “Show Me State” because the people there are naturally skeptical and savvy. Sports like basketball are all about proving yourself on the court. Talk is cheap and this place embraces that fact.
The Show Me Center opened in 1987 and seats nearly 7000 fans. Every seat is a great one and you will enjoy watching the game while also enjoying your favorite concession items such as nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, candy, sodas and more. The students will keep the atmosphere lively while cheering on their team to victory.
The Redhawks play in the Ohio Valley Conference with teams such as Austin Peay, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Murray State, Southern Illinois, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and Tennessee Martin. These teams will be trying to qualify for the NCAA Tournament by winning the OVC Tournament at the end of the season. But before that they will be trying to automatically qualify for a postseason bid by winning the OVC regular season crown. The action will be fierce all season long at the Show Me Center.
