The Skyhawks have been to the NIT once, which was in 2009 when they lost to Auburn in the first round. They have also been to the CIT once. That was last season when they advanced all the way to the semifinals. Will they get back to the postseason for the second straight year?
The Skyhawks play in the aptly named Skyhawk Arena, which opened in 1979 and seats 7000. All the seats in Skyhawk Arena are great and you will enjoy all your favorite concession items such as burgers, nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, candy and sodas while you watch a great college basketball game. The students keep the place hopping as well as they fully support their team.
UT-Martin plays in the Ohio Valley Conference, which includes teams such as Austin Peay, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Murray State, SE Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech. These teams will be fighting for the automatic NCAA Tournament bid awarded to the OVC Tournament Champions, but also will be trying to win the regular season championship and an automatic bid to one of the other postseason tournaments as well. So the action will be fierce all season long at Skyhawk Arena this season.
