College Stadium Review: Stuart C. Seigel Center

The VCU Rams basketball team has been one of the best in college basketball in recent years. They have been to 14 NCAA Tournaments. Eight times they have advanced to the Round of 32, four of those since 2007. In 2001, the Rams went all the way to the Final Four in their first rip to the Sweet Sixteen.

VCU plays in the Atlantic 10 Conference, one of the best in college basketball.

The Rams have been to the NIT five times, advancing to the second round twice and also the CBI in 2010 where they won the tournament, beating St Louis in the finals.
The Verizon Wireless Arena opened in 1999 and seats 7500 fans. There are only great seats at the VCU games and you’ll have a fantastic time watching the game and enjoying your favorite concession items such as hot dogs, wraps, pizza, burritos, tacos and more. The students keep the atmosphere at a high level as well, filling up the student section and cheering loudly throughout the game.
The neighborhood surrounding the arena is one of the best you’ll find. Come hungry and thirsty as you’ll find a lot of great restaurants surrounding the venue.
VCU plays in the Atlantic 10 Conference, one of the best in college basketball. The A-10 includes teams such as Davidson, Dayton, Duquesne, Fordham, George Mason, George Washington, LaSalle, UMass, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, St. Joseph’s and St. Louis. These teams will be trying to get to the NCAA Tournament either by winning the A-10 Tournament or by winning enough to impress the selection committee for an at-large bid. Several of them will be successful.
You can come see these teams play in the regular season, before many of them go on to the Big Dance. Don’t miss out.
