College Stadium Review: TD Arena

The College of Charleston Cougars are trying to get to the NCAA Tournament in 2016 for the fifth time in school history but the first time in the new millennium. The Cougars went to the Big Dance four times in the 1990s, even advancing to the Round of 32 in 1997.

TD Arena

A game at TD Arena is a basketball fan’s dream night out. You see a great game in a nice arena and have plenty of options for after the game.

College of Charleston is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association, which sends the winner of its tournament to the NCAA Tournament. Other teams in the CAA include Drexel, Delaware, Elon, Hofstra, James Madison, William & Mary, Towson, Northeastern, UNC Wilmington and Towson.
The TD Arena holds 5100 Cougars fans and opened in 2008. Being a new arena, the game day atmosphere is like a mini-NBA game with the sound systems, video boards, movie theatre-type seats and an entertaining pregame and halftime show.
You will enjoy the great Cougars basketball action and entertainment while devouring your favorite food items from the concession stands on the concourse such as Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, popcorn, nachos and hot dogs. Around the town after the game you will want to stop in at one of the great restaurants in the city of Charleston such as King Street Grille or the Belmont. Or if you just want to eat some good sports bar type food, try the Upper Deck or Boone’s Alley.
