The San Diego State Aztecs have been to the NCAA Tournament 11 times, including the last six in a row. Four of the past five seasons, the Aztecs have advanced to the Round of 32 and two of those they made it to the Sweet Sixteen (2011 and 2014).

Viejas Arena

You will have a great college basketball experience at Viejas Arena, which was actually built inside the Aztec Bowl

The Aztecs have been to the NIT five times, four of those between 2003 and 2009, a year in which they advanced to the semifinals in Madison Square Garden.  The Aztecs basketball program has been very successful since the start of the new millennium.
The Aztecs play their home games at the Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl. It opened in 1997 and seats over 12,000 college basketball fans. You will have a great college basketball experience at Viejas Arena, which was actually built inside the Aztec Bowl, which served as the football home of the Aztecs until 1967.
The concession stands are on the outside of the arena, which is unique. Concession items consist of all your favorites, such as hot dogs, pizza, nachos, tortilla wraps, peanuts, Cookies, frozen lemonade and more. You will enjoy these while also watching one of college basketball’s best teams from a great seat. The atmosphere is at the top of college basketball. The Aztecs really know how to make their games an event.
San Diego State plays in the Mountain West Conference, which means great games with teams such as Air Force, Boise State, Fresno State, Colorado State, Nevada, UNLV, New Mexico, San Jose State, Utah State and Wyoming.
Many of these teams will be in the NCAA Tournament in March. You can come see them before that happens at the Aztecs games at Viejas Arena. Bring the kids out to as many games as you can this season.
