The Liberty Flames have made three trips to the NCAA Tournament in their school history. All three times they were knocked out in their first game. The Flames have also played in the CIT in 2009 where they advanced to the second round of that tournament.
Liberty plays their home games at Vines Center which opened in 1990 and seats over 8000 fans for Flames home basketball games. This is a modern arena with all the amenities including comfortable chairs to sit and watch the action. You can enjoy your favorite concession items such as burgers, chicken tenders, pizzas, hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts and more as you have a fantastic view of the court.
Liberty is part of the Big South Conference which includes schools such as Campbell, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Gardner Webb, High Point, Longwood, Presbyterian, Radford, UNC Asheville and Winthrop. These teams will be trying for a post season berth for winning the conference championship so the action at the Vines Center will be intense all season long. The winner of the Big South Tournament claims the ultimate prize, a ticket to the Big Dance. Liberty will be trying to earn their fourth such trip this season.
You will not want to miss out on any of the great Big South college basketball action this season at the Vines Center. Enjoy a great game from a nice comfy seat with some great food. Bring the kids with you because Flames basketball is a family friendly event.
