College Stadium Review: Walkup Skydome

The Northern Arizona basketball team has been to the NCAA Tournament twice in the school’s history (1998 and 2000).  They have been to the NIT three times and the CIT twice, including last season when they went all the way to the championship game. Will the Lumberjacks get back to the postseason this year? Come to the Walkup Skydome and find out.

Walkup Skydome

Although this is a football stadium, it sets up nicely for basketball as well.

The Walkup Skydome opened in 1977 and seats 7000 fans. Do not be fooled by the age, this place has just undergone a huge renovation.  Although this is a football stadium, it sets up nicely for basketball as well. All the seats are now chairs with arm rests and cup holders and they all have a great view of the brand new floor. The concessions are great and you will enjoy items such as hot dogs, nachos, sodas and more while taking in the action.
The Lumberjacks are part of the Big Sky Conference, which includes teams such as Eastern Washington, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, North Dakota, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Cal State Sacramento, Southern Utah and Weber State. These teams will be trying to get to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Big Sky Conference Tournament, but will also be trying to get to the postseason by winning the regular season championship. The action on the court at the Walkup Skydome will be fierce all season.
You do not want to miss out on the action at the Walkup Skydome this season. The Walkup Skydome is family friendly atmospheres so bring them out this season.
