The UMass Minutemen have been to the NCAA Tournament nine times in their history. They have been to the Sweet Sixteen three times (1992, 1995 and 1996), the Elite Eight twice (1995 and 1996) and made it to the Final Four in 1996.
The Minutemen have been to the NIT 13 times in their history as well. They have made it to Madison Square Garden three times (1991, 2008 and 2012), making it to the championship game in 2008. Some of the greats to have played for UMass include Marcus Camby, Julius Erving, Al Skinner, Lou Roe and more.
William D. Mullins Center opened in 1993 and holds nearly 9500 fans. Every seat is a great one and you will enjoy your game day experience at the Minutemen game. You will also enjoy some great concessions such as hot dogs, pizza, chicken fingers, burgers and Coke products while watching a great game. The students keep the atmosphere lively while rooting on the Minutemen.
UMass plays in the Atlantic 10 which includes Davidson, Dayton, Duquesne, Fordham, George Mason, George Washington, LaSalle, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, St. Joseph’s, St. Louis and VCU. These teams will be trying to make it to the NCAA Tournament by winning the A-10 Tournament, which has an automatic bid for the winner. But they will also be trying to win enough games for an at-large bid. If history is an indication, several will be successful. You can watch these teams before the NCAA Tournament in March.
Don’t miss out on the great college basketball action at William D Mullins Center.
