College Stadium Review: WVU Coliseum

The West Virginia Mountaineers have been to the NCAA Tournament 26 times in their storied history. They have been to the Sweet Sixteen nine times, the Elite Eight (1959, 2005 and 2010) and the Final Four twice (1959 and 2010). The Mountaineers reached the National Championship Game in 1959.

Some of the greats to play for the Mountaineers include Jerry West, Rod Hundley, Bob Huggins, Kevin Pittsnogle, Rod Thorn, DaShaun Butler, Devin Ebanks and many more.
West Virginia has been to the NIT 16 times. They have advanced to Madison Square Garden for the semifinals five times and have won the NIT Championship twice (1942 and 2007).
The Mountaineers play at the WVU Coliseum which opened in 1970 and seats 14,000 fans. Every seat is a great one and you will enjoy the view while enjoying your favorite concessions such as pizzas, wraps sandwiches, popcorn and more while you watch a great game. The students and pep band will keep the atmosphere loud and proud while rooting the Mountaineers on to a win.
West Virginia plays in the Big 12 Conference, one of the best in the nation. Teams such as Texas, TCU, Baylor, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State and Iowa State will be coming to WVU Coliseum to take on the Mountaineers. These teams will be competing for automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Big 12 Tournament. They will also be trying to win enough games to gain an at-large berth, which many will no doubt be awarded.
You don’t want to miss out on the great college basketball action at the Mountaineers games this season. Bring the kids out as often as you can.
