Damon Albarn Performs on Jimmy Kimmel at SXSW

Damon Albarn’s new album Everyday Robots drops late April

After squashing the rumors of a potentially new Blur album, Damon Albarn is still dishing out the tunes with his upcoming solo release Everyday Robots, out April 28. The ex-Blur, ex-Gorillaz, ex-The Good The Bad & The Queen frontman took to Jimmy Kimmel Live during their special SXSW broadcast, performing “Mr. Tembo” (a song about an elephant, apparently) and closing out with “Lonely Press Play.”

Described as a “folk soul” project, everything we’ve heard from Everyday Robots so far seems vaguely reminiscent of Albarn’s past musical endeavors, while bringing out a new side of the Brit rocker’s talent. We can keep praying for the unreleased Blur material to come together as a new album, but in the meantime, Albarn’s performances on Kimmel will have to do. Watch and enjoy below!
