The 1995-96 Chicago Bulls were able to achieve what no NBA team has ever done before, win 70 games in a season. Jordan, Pippen and company made history finishing their historic run with a 72-10 record. Flash forward 20 years, the Golden State Warriors have 67 wins and 8 more games remaining in the season. Fans hoping to witness the Warriors break the record and cap off an incredible season will have to dig deep into their pockets as demand to see their final games has brought along big prices.
The average ticket price for the eight remaining games on the Warriors schedule is $514.63. Five of them are home games averaging a price of $543.80, while the three away games are averaging $466. The cheapest ticket available to any of the games is $89 to see them play the Utah Jazz. Golden State Warriors tickets to the remaining home games may actually be more expensive than some of their playoff tickets will be.
When asked about the spike in ticket prices, Warriors Sr. VP of Business Development Brandon Schneider commented “It’s unbelievable. I’ve been with the Warriors for 14 years. I’ve never seen anything like what we’ve seen this year. We’re seeing tickets trade on the secondary market 80 percent above what we saw last season”. The Warriors finished last season with a 67-15 record and went on to win the NBA Championship.
