College Stadium Review: James A. Rhodes Arena

James A. Rhodes Arena is the home of Akron Zips basketball of the Mid-American Conference. Akron is known as the hometown of Lebron James so they take their hoops seriously there. The Zips have been fairly successful in recent seasons while playing at James A. Rhodes Arena. They advanced to the NCAA Tournament in both 2009 and 2011. This year the Zips will be trying to get back to the Big Dance.

Opening in 1983, James A. Rhodes Arena holds 5500 Zips fans. The Zips have a proud basketball tradition as they were where Coach Bob Huggins got his start. James A. Rhodes Arena is close to 69 Taps where you have a choice of 69 different draft beers on tap and also the Barley House where you can try even more beers and get a great Barbecue sandwich before the game.
Once you settle in to one of the great seats at James A. Rhodes Arena you can enjoy your favorite concession items such as Chick-Fil-A, nachos, popcorn, pretzels and Papa John’s Pizza. No matter where you sit you have a great view of the court!
The MAC has a great basketball tradition with schools such as Kent State, Buffalo, Ball State and Ohio who have enjoyed some great NCAA moments.
